Man O’ War Nigeria was established by the Federal Government, through the Citizenship and Leadership Training center as empowered by its enabling ordinance as published in the extra-ordinary gazette no. 45 of august 10 1960 as modified by decree no. 38 of December 1989. It is a Federal Government Established Paramilitary organization with volunteer membership drawn from the Nigerian general public with cadet arms in schools and colleges all over the federation. The structure is broken into National Command at Abuja, State Command, Area Command at the Local Government levels And Unit Command at the Wards. The enabling Ordinance effectively placed the establishments and running of the Man O’ War Nigeria under the Citizenship and Leadership Training Center Nigeria. FUNCTIONS OF MAN O’ WAR NIGERIA •Rescue and disaster management Participation in the enhancement of food security. •Embarking in youth sensitization activities •Enhancing value re-orientation and sensitization of citizens through the promotion of social welfare, culture and economic well being. •Regular liaison with governmental bodies, authorities, professional associations and body cooperate to monitor government projects and programmes. •Compliment efforts of law enforcement agencies of government in traffic management, security of life and property, environment protection, general safety & crowd control. •Training of youth corpers at orientation camps, Students in schools and out of School youths.
